Baby Christian

Baby Christian
Christian was born with two very rare congenital heart defects; Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and Endocardial Fibroelastosis (EFE) He will require three (two down, one to go!) open-heart surgeries to sustain life. He is a miracle and a blessing. We are so greatful to have him here with us. Thank you for stopping in. Lilypie 2nd Birthday Ticker

At Grammy Whee's

Christian and I decided that, while Daddy was out interviewing, we'd spend a couple of days in good 'ol Sisters with Grammy Whee and Pappy. Last night Christian woke up once to eat, then slept until 5:30! Yes, for us, that is amazing! Because he was in the hospital so long and confined to a bed, he associates being in a bed, to not feeling well. We're working hard at getting him to sleep by himself. Last night, he slept in the co-sleeper next to me! Yay! He has thoroughly enjoyed his bath time (until I wash his hair!) and it can now be styled in to the ever-so-adorable Mohawk! He's a rock star! It looks like Daddy has been hired at Masaba Airlines. Yay! We'll get the for-sure thumbs up here soon! Well, looks like it's bedtime for the little man. We'll update again very soon. In the meantime, enjoy the pictures!

My sweet baby!

So, for this post at least, mommy is taking over! So much has happened in the past few weeks. My little Christian is 9 weeks and now weighs 7 lbs 3.5 oz! Yay! He is so alert during the day now. He smiles and coos like crazy and LOVES looking at lights! We had a rough week with two days of doctor appointments, each lasting 3 hours! Dr. Tajchman (cardiologist) was Tuesday and my poor little guy needed a chest x-ray (I won't even go into how horrible that was... I cried) The results showed that he had too much blood going to his lungs, so we had to up one of his meds. He's on three meds...two oral and an injection. Two of which are given twice a day and one is three times a day. His appointment on Wednesday brought on four shots! We did however meet another little baby that is just two months older than Christian...so now we have another play buddy! He was pretty cranky Thursday and Friday, but greeted Saturday with smiles and laughs with mommy! We love our snuggle time (which is almost all of the time!) He is definitely a momma's boy! Well, it's getting late and close to C's midnight snack! More to come soon! Enjoy the pics!
